Rose Hinton: Seasons of Life

Preventive Care to Ministry Families

RoseHinton
Rose Hinton, Director, Seasons of Life

Rose Hinton has always had a heart to serve Jesus and share her faith.

She was filled with the Holy Spirit at nine years old in a revival service. Rose was raised in Quakertown, Connecticut, as one of 11 children. When she moved to Missouri with her family became part of and Assemblies of God church because there were no Quaker churches, and her parents were Spirit-filled.

Rose met her husband Tom as a student at Central Bible College, and was married her sophomore year. They served as youth pastors and district youth directors; Tom also served in the National Youth Ministries department as the Ambassadors in Mission representative. The couple then pioneered Boston Worship Center, Boston, Massachusetts, and several other pastoral positions before becoming missionaries in Santiago, Chile, from 1992-1996. In each of these positions, Rose taught and helped in ministry.

When Tom and Rose divorced, Rose was left to finish raising her daughters and search for direction in her life. She felt she was not done with ministry, and reapplied to become a missionary. John Bueno, who was the Executive Director of Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM) at the time, gave his blessing. She completed the entire application process again, as if she had not served previously, while working full-time and being a single mom.

Rose has served in Caring Connection, AGWM Personnel and Family Life, and Compassion Link (International Pastoral Care). In each of her positions, she worked with those on the field in ministry. She also returned to school for a degree in social work, which she completed in 2007, and a masters in counseling in 2010. During this time, Rose was diagnosed with cancer, and began chemotherapy, but continued with classes and schoolwork, in spite of the difficulty.

In late 2016, Rose felt a stirring in her heart to begin a new ministry to pastors. The goal of this new ministry, Seasons of Life, is to be a resource for ministers who are suffering from burnout, who are in a crisis, or who just need a break from the demands of ministry.

"Because of my own journey in ministry, in my successes and failures, and my training, I feel like I am equipped with God's help to make a difference in the body of Christ," Rose observed. "I pray this ministry will be on the preventive side of helping those in ministry stay healthy."

Because Seasons of Life is so new, Rose is ready to see how it will all unfold in the coming months as God sends families to her who need ministry. Please be praying with Rose that ministry families will be strengthened and blessed by her involvement in their lives! For more information, e-mail Rose at rosehinton@gmail.com.
