“Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people” (Luke 2:10).
The gospel is properly called in Greek the evangelion—The Good News. It is the most wonderful news ever announced, for it gives life to people who are dead in their hearts, and light to those full of darkness! It gives forgiveness to the guilt-ridden and heals the sin-infected souls and spirits of all mankind. The Lord Jesus Christ is the gospel.
In his book, Evangelism: A Concise History, John Mark Terry states that the history of evangelism began with the birth of Jesus Christ, the Evangel. Jesus came to earth to be both the Message and the Messenger.
How dare we keep this marvelous good news to ourselves and not share it with the rest of the world! They still suffer as we once did, and Jesus died and rose again to save and restore them to himself!
The passion to reach hurting people for Christ is more caught than taught. Lives speak powerfully through living illustrations. Jesus set the example. He taught His disciples verbally, and then provided a living portrait.
Darrell W. Robinson, in his book People Sharing Jesus, explains that ministry which makes a difference always flows out of character. “Being” must come before “doing.” This does not mean you must be perfect before you are qualified to share your faith. In fact, those you witness to can not relate to perfection. Jesus desires to use genuine people who have had a life changing experience themselves to make a difference in others.
Jesus had a plan for saving a lost world when He instructed His disciples: “Follow me… and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19).

I have a friend whose sole purpose in having a dog is canine evangelism. Each evening while walking her pet, she looks for opportunities to meet her neighbors and be a witness. Whatever type of evangelism you choose, just be vigilant in sharing the good news.
