How do we prepare ourselves in times of uncertainty? Today we discuss our response to difficulties.
Let us continue our observations from Hebrews 12 concerning our attitude toward the life’s hardships.
How do we prepare ourselves in times of uncertainty? I believe Scripture gives us guidance to help us in turbulent times.
Jesus’ resurrection from the dead was more than a one-time event; the music does not end with His resurrection. There is a coda—we shall live also!
I have been amazed at how many times Jesus told the disciples He was going to die and then rise from the dead. But they didn’t get it, so the disciples were unprepared for what happened.
Sitting alone on Easter Sunday night, I replayed in my mind the events of Easter weekend. I asked myself, what parts of this Easter do I want to carry in my heart?
Have you ever thought of the emotional roller-coaster the disciples rode during the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday morning?

Life is much like driving through a strange city. We approach intersections and need to make choices.
God said all of us frumpy, lumpy, dumpy and even grumpy people can be sanctuaries of His presence.
The Bible does not define or defend God, it simply declares His existence. The more we know of Him, the more we stand in awe of His majesty.
If God did not create man, as Genesis teaches, the only explanation of a divine being is that man imaginatively created the kind of god he needed when he needed one.

The word used for “heal” in this verse is rapha’, a root meaning to “mend by sewing, or figuratively to make whole.”
Are you sometimes passive in listening to your children because of preoccupation?
Humility, praying, and seeking God’s face are to no avail if there is not a turning away from sin.
The emphasis today is on seeking God, a phrase taken from the Hebrew word baqash meaning “to search out” or “to strive after.”
Prayer is a word used frequently in our culture with widely different meanings.
All through the Bible humility is required of those who walk with God (Micah 6:8; 1 Peter 5:5).
The chosen people of God are identified in this verse as the ones called by the Name of the Lord. You can trace the usage of the Name of the Lord in the Old Testament and see it is used as a expression of His person.
This is probably the most-quoted verse during times of spiritual renewal. The opening phrase, If my people, presents the choice set before God’s chosen people.
Many people will acknowledge Jesus as a good man. People of faith believe He was the Son of God. The Bible clearly substantiates their position of faith.
In the opening chapter of his Gospel, John refers to Jesus by many names, but Jesus called himself the “Son of Man.”
John wrote his Gospel to convince people Jesus was the promised Messiah. This theme is affirmed by stories in the narrative.
John continued picturing Jesus as the Lamb in the Book of Revelation. Each presentation gives us more information about Him.
John challenged his listeners to “Behold, the Lamb!” Other writers also employ this figure of speech in describing the Messiah.
“Look, the Lamb of God.” John the Baptist thundered these bold words as people gathered before him. The message was plain.
“Who sinned,” they asked, “this man or his parents?” Jesus stretched their thinking by offering another possibility.
John adds another stroke of the brush to the picture he paints of Jesus: He is the Light.
Throughout the Gospel of John, we become acquainted with Jesus the Life-giver as we observe Him in action.
John’s stated purpose for writing is that his readers might believe in Jesus and consequently have life through His name. The theme of Christ, the Life, is woven consistently throughout the Gospel like a golden thread in a tapestry.
In his gospel, John first introduces Jesus as the eternal Word of God who became flesh. This picture of Jesus reveals Him as a participant in creation.
John opens his Gospel by presenting Jesus as the Living Word of God. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
